(Hampton Roads) – It’s the most wonderful time of the year – Tidewater Arts Outreach officially announces its Once More Concert will occur for the first time in-person at Zeiders American Dream Theater in Virginia Beach on Wednesday, April 6 at 5:30pm. The Once More Concert features four Hampton Roads residents (“inspirations”) each paired with a songwriter from the region who will turn their life stories into original songs. The songwriters and their inspirations met in February 2022 and will meet again on April 6 – where the inspirations will hear the songs for the first time surrounded by friends and loved ones. “We are beyond thrilled to finally bring this event to life in-person,” says Kate Powell, Executive Director of Tidewater Arts Outreach. “The inaugural event was to be in March 2020 but had to be pushed back and eventually put in the virtual environment later that year. We were able to produce it again virtually in 2021 but are thoroughly excited to finally bring it back to a live, in-person performance.” Once More 2022 will feature the following artists and inspirations:

  • G. William “Bill” Whitehurst, former U.S. Congressman and Dean of Students at Old Dominion University with his artists Myra Smith-Jones “The Phoenix” and Bryan Austin.

  • Mary Brewer, long-time Virginia Beach resident with her artist Lewis McGehee, a regional favorite in performance and songwriting circles.

  • Lillie Gilbert, a prolific author on kayaking and paddle sports and former owner of Wild River Outfitters with her artist Valerie Morales who features on the radio station La Selecta.

  • Evoria Moring, a long-time volunteer with the Portsmouth Senior Station with her artist and life-song writing extraordinaire Tina Micula.

More information about the artists and the Once More Concert can be found at www.tidewaterartsoureach.org. Tickets are available for purchase and all proceeds benefit the arts outreach programs of Tidewater Arts Outreach. ###
