Old-fashioned holiday traditions keep generations of families coming back every year
Are you ready for some holiday nostalgia? Winter Wonderland: The Coleman Nursery Collection opens at the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center located at 400 High Street on Friday, November 25th, and runs through Saturday, December 31st, 2022. The new Winter Wonderland banner proudly displayed outside the galleries invites children of all ages to come inside and take a closer view – See the trees brimming with twinkling lights and animated yuletide displays that have drawn generations of visitors from across the region that began at the Coleman Nursery in Portsmouth. The exhibit offers a visual treat of animated scenes, busy elves, and an enchanted forest with woodland animals. Visit some of your favorites, Sleeping Santa, the candy factory, the toy shop, and the bakery. On weekends, visit Olde Towne Santa in the Victorian chalet, and enjoy seasonal activities of holiday crafts, music, and more. All the excitement begins opening weekend November 25th- 27th and continues weekends through December 31st.
On Friday, November 25th Museum members receive an additional 25% discount on all non-consignment purchases at PACC’s Gallery Shop next door. Visitors must show a membership card and proper I.D.
Winter Wonderland: The Coleman Nursery Collection’s hours of operation this year are Thursday – Saturday: Noon - 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The museum is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and on Wednesdays, group tours are available from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. via reservation by calling 757-393-5258. The Museum will be closed on December 25th.
General admission is $3 for all ages, and museum members are free. Portsmouth citizens, with identification or a utility bill in their name, receive free admission on Sunday, December 18th.
